Suspected Covid-19 patient from Bandipora admitted in CD hospital | KNO

Bandipora, Mar 26 (KNO): A suspected COVID-19 patient was on Thursday shifted to Chest Disease (CD) Hospital in Srinagar for quarantine purpose as he had shown severe symptoms of the virus, sources said. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a 29-year-old Tableeg-i-Jamaat member was shifted to CD hospital for quarantine purpose after he showed symptoms of the virus. Sources said that he was among the contacts of the COVID-19 patient of Hyderpora who died on Thursday morning after he was tested positive for the virus two days ago. “The 29-year-old who was today shifted to CD hospital has a travel history of Bengaluru, Delhi and Jammu. He was among the contacts of the deceased COVID-19 patient as he was also a Tableeg-i-Jamaat member,” they said. An official said that he was traced late last night and was put under quarantine at Chitternar in Bandipora, where a quarantine centre has been set up by the district administration. “He was traced by the rapid response team at around 12:30 am and immediately put under quarantine at Chitternar. He had returned to Kashmir on March 22nd. After he showed sever symptoms we decided to shift him to CD hospital today,” he said. As per the details available with—KNO, a total of 129 persons have put under quarantine so far in different centres, established in the district. Out of these 129 test samples of 18 persons have been collected so far in which 4 have been reported positive while 2 have been reported negative and reports of 12 samples are still awaited. According to these details a total of 46 persons have been put under quarantine since yesterday including the relatives of 4 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. Earlier, a 22-year-old student from Kehnusa village of Bandipora was also tested positive on 24th of March and he was put under quarantine at GMC Baramulla. Authorities on Wednesday shifted three relatives including father and two cousins of COVID-19 patient from Kehnusa village to SKIMS Soura for quarantine purpose – (KNO)
